For eight years, Pat Black, owner of The Carpenter House in historic downtown east Plano, has been assisting couples in planning and hosting beautifully elegant candlelight and garden wedding ceremonies and receptions. Her philosophy: “Keep it simple, make it elegant, ensure that it is affordable, and above all, plan every event to be a joyous celebration that will be fondly remembered.” Judging from the steady stream of referrals, Pat is convinced that she is on the right track. Time after time, couples use the terms “easy” and “stress-free” to describe their experience at The Carpenter House.
What more romantic way to start a new life together than at a Queen Anne Victorian home, completed in 1898, built by a gentleman for the love of his life, and enduring for over a century? The Carpenter House is timeless, charming and unique—as infinitely special as each person who steps onto its wrap-around porch.
And if the house itself, listed on the Plano Historic Register, isn’t enough to take your breath away, the almost one acre of gardens surrounding The Carpenter House will transport you and your guests to another place and time. Spring and fall weddings and receptions on the grounds are the specialty of the house! The Carpenter House is also available for bridal luncheons, rehearsal dinners, showers, parties and bridal portrait shoots. Each event is guaranteed exclusive use of the house and grounds, as well as the undivided attention of Pat and her staff.
